What are the objectives of DMAIC methodology?
DMAIC is a key roadmap of Lean Six Sigma that provides a template to follow when conducting problem-solving activities. Basically, DMAIC is an improvement strategy that entails five steps: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control all of which help in improving organizational systems. In Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, professionals learn to master these phases:
Define (D): Defines the problem, as well as what is to be achieved and what is within the scope of the project in relation to business objectives. Tools include Project Charter, SIPOC and the Kano Model etc.
Measure (M): Tends to rely on current process in order to determine problem areas, and establish a baseline. Some of the tools are Process Mapping, Data Collection Plans and Sampling Techniques etc.
Analyze (A): Is the process of determining, with the help of FMEA, Hypothesis Testing or Root Cause Analysis among other tools, what the actual problems are that cause inefficiencies.

What are the initial steps to begin the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification process?
The process to achieve Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification begins with enrolling in an upcoming batch. After enrollment, you will receive pre-study material to familiarize yourself with the foundational concepts. The next step is to attend Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) sessions alongside a cohort of like-minded individuals. During the training, you will work on a practice project using Minitab to apply your learning in a practical setting.
On the final day of your training, you will receive a link to the open-book, online examination. This exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 90 minutes. The examination link remains active for 7 days. To pass, you must score at least 70%. Results will be announced within 24 hours of exam submission for the entire batch. If successful, you will be awarded a Globally Recognized Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate on the same day.
